1. What kind of innovative painting solutions will be presented at AMTS 2017 ? 

Eisenmann  is providing a dry type scrubber system- E-Cube for energy saving, easy maintenance and low cost of operation in paint shop. Compared with traditional Venturi scrubber, the E-Cube system is not only an innovation, but a simple green treatment of paint overstay.

With the development of Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, Eisenmann is focusing on process and management automation. ENISCO (Enisco / no capital letters) - our industrial solution software company is promoting the E-MES to the market, which can benefit our customer in flexible production, cost efficiency, smart logistics and autonomous decision making in all aspects of an industrial organization.


2.  In order to respond to the requirements of energy-saving and emission-reduction, Automakers are working on reducing vehicle weight. More new materials like Aluminum-magnesium alloy, carbon fiber, plastics etc. are widely used in many areas. Does this development or trends bring any chances to Eisenmann?

For light weight, Eisenmann has been providing 3 hard coating line for polycarbonate material in 2 automotive exterior manufacturers, which are the first and unique lines for PC hardcoating in China.

At the same time, new material provides same or better mechanic characteristics and lighter weight, e.g. Carbon fiber in CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer), of which Eisenmann supplies the state of the art technologies for whole hot package of carbon fiber manufacturing.
Based on experienced technology of material heat treatment, Eisenmann built a new company named Telos Global, dedicated for high strength structural material such as press hardening steel for automobile. This is a new business for our development in China.

3. Is there any difference in the process of plastics painting compared to metal painting?

Painting process normally differs according to what the function of a paint line is meant to achieve. For metal parts, protecting the substance from getting rust is the highest priority. While for plastic parts, it mainly aims at presenting pleasant appearance, then at a function of protecting substance against scratches. In addition, consider the different nature of these two materials, pretreatment process and chemicals for metal parts and plastic parts are therefore totally different.
Because of the strong needs of anti-rust which metal parts have, as well as metal’s characteristics of electric conductivity, E-coat plus powder paint are widely used. Plastic parts, take exterior parts for instance, more focus on fine surface, wet painting by robots is commonly adopted then. Furthermore, Eisenmann’s application of hard coating for PC vehicle windows and exterior parts is in a leading position in the world. This application not only meets with the requirement of the lighter weight development but also ensures PC parts of excellent optical and durable features.
In regarding to baking process, Eisenmann talks with paint or powder suppliers, settles the most effective curing temperature and duration under the guideline of energy saving for the sake of customer.

To adopt appropriate conveyor system, it depends on workpiece’s shape, dimension and weight as well as the paint process, not simply relies on metal parts or plastic parts. On many occasions, a paint shop needs to combine different type of conveyor to realize the function of paint line and material flow. Such as paint line for aluminum wheels, the combination of overhead chain conveyor and floor conveyor is commonly used, and sometimes may be assisted by belt or roller bed to complete the logistics connecting to pre/post production processing. And lots of plastic part paint lines are preferred to use skid conveyor system for its high stability and flexibility. Eisenmann, with successful and advanced technology, has its own factory to design and manufacture whole range of conveyor system. From quality and performance of conveyor system itself, to integrate conveyor system into paint line, Eisenmann is the benchmark in market.


4.  Talking about the painting shop, we all regard it as a high-polluted and high energy-consuming process. So, how does Eisenmann help customers not only protect the environment, but also create high efficiency? Do you have any references to share?  

The main issue of the painting process regarding environmental influence is the VOC.Eisenmann has our own Environmental Technology business unit, which has been working for waste treatment, e.g.VOC treatment and waste water treatment.

As it’s widely used to direct oxidization of VOC, Eisenmann has a decicated TO and RTO equipment, to make sure the long term performance of high purification and reliability. Depending on different sources of VOC and energy saving solution, Eisenmann is considering the optimized solution of both environmental friendly and minimized consumption of energy. Take waste gas from drying oven for example, the typical design consists of TO and reuse of the heat from the TO and recycle the heat to pretreatment or preheating of the oven.

In other cases, e.g. VOC from painting booth, the VOC content and air volume are calculated and sent to RTO with regeneration to keep the cracking continuous running without additional injection of energy, almost Zero energy cost for VOC disposal.

In a painting line of an automobile manufacturer in Beijing, several TOs, Zeolite wheels and RTO are integrated to treat VOC. Even the air volume is more than 400,000m3/hr, the final VOC content is much lower than the designed value and the emission is far below our national standard.


5. With the Industry 4.0,Smart Manufacturing the manufacturers are beginning to participate in this technology revolution. They are improving not only the automation process, but also software to achieve the target of smart plant. What does this mean to Eisenmann, which challenges and chances is Eisenmann faced with? Do you have any progress in this field?

As said at the beginning Eisenmann is a technology and innovation oriented company. We are always focusing on market trends and technical development. The Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing is not a slogan, but actions in Eisenmann, in the long term strategy, Eisenmann has been investing in intelligent equipment and ENISCO –our software company, the smart factory expert. The solution in digitalized factory and big data application with the name of E-MES has been successfully used in industrial operations. In China, the automotive painting line has been benefited from our E-MES system.

6. What about the marketing and business development of Eisenmann in China market? Do you have any plan in China market?

Eisenmann is always in the leading position of painting technology. Our target is to satisfy our customer in energy saving, cost reduction and sustainable development. Many new technology will be presented in the market, e.g. Smart Oven, One Piece Flow, and Integrated Coating Thickness Measurement, etc.

Eisenmann is not only a painting line supplier. There are more areas to be developed in China, with existing approved technologies, such as logistics, bio-gas system, carbon fiber manufacturing, powder metallurgy and intelligent manufacturing.
