Instead of the traditional power wash system, CO2 cleaning technology is supposed to be applied more and more in the pretreatment process of the plastic painting industry, in consideration of equipment investment, running cost, plant coverage and environmental protection. The cleaning jet, a mixture of CO2 snow flake and compressed air of above 4 bar pressure and 6m3/min flow rate, hits the contaminated surface at a high speed, causing embrittlement of dirt particles through rapid cooling and detachment from the bumper surface due to the kinetic energy of sublimation. Through this environmental-friendly dry process, an easy-to-use automated application is made possible, solvent-free and residue-free.
